Nagkaroon Si Denise Laurel Ng Cyst Sa Ibat-Ibang Bahagi Ng Katawan At Ang Pinagmulan Nito Ay Karaniwang Ginagawa Ng Karamihan

During the peak of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2” competition, Denise noticed something different about her health.

In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) back in 2016, Denise revealed: “I couldn’t understand because I was so healthy, I was working out, I was doing soap and Your Face at the same time, pero I was gaining weight. Yun pala that’s my body stressed na. My body started acting up.”

She decided to visit her doctor and was surprised with the result of her tests: ”They found a mass in my breast, my nodes, and in my ovaries. I have cysts all over!”

What even more shocking is that all of her health issues were actually caused by excessive working at night and taking a good night sleep for granted.

The actress admitted that she would often push herself to the limit for the sake of work, “Twenty-one years of non-stop working and pushing myself to the limits sometimes, which I love to do. Nobody forced me, I loved to do that,” she said.

“I was young, fit, because I exercise, what could go wrong, right?” Denise wonders.

It was discovered that staying late at night and even exercising despite the lack of sleep eventually took a toll on Denise’s body. Denise also shared that at the moment, not all of her cysts are gone and she is not rushing to take them away. She also shared that she refused to take medication as it will eventually mess up her system.

“I’m gonna have to take out some of them. In time. There’s no rush. But I’ve already taken out half of what’s inside my breast, pero I don’t know, I don’t like operations eh, so I’m gonna do it little by little,” Denise said.

“And I’m not taking any medication because it messes with your system. And I wanna be a good, energetic mom for my son,” she added referring to her 5-year-old son, Alejandro.

When asked about what lesson she learned from this experience, she said: “Do not take sleep for granted. I also catch naps whenever I can.”

Aside from changing her sleep pattern, Denise also changed her diet to a “no sugar, less sodium” food intake.

But despite everything that happened to her health, Denise maintained a positive outlook on life:

“Masaya pa rin ang buhay!” she concluded.
