It has been 8-years since GMA-7’s hit show SOP went off the day on national television. Despite this, there are still a number of believers who are hoping to see a grand performance reunion from the celebrated show’s biggest stars. Regine Velasquez, Jaya, Lani Misalucha, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Cacai Velasquez are just some of the names that headlined the show.
Back then, SOP had a segment that they called “Back-to-Back-to-Back” which featured and highlighted the talents of said stars. Fans would wait every Sunday afternoon for heart-stopping performances from their favorite artists.
Recently, Lani came home to the network that took her in with open arms. The artist is a Kapuso once again as she joins the crew of The Clash, GMA-7’s newest singing talent search.
Fans of SOP suddenly turned hopeful as they fantasized about this move being the pavement for the reunion that they have been waiting for the past 8-years.
Regine Velasquez and Lani Misalucha were then asked about a potential “Back-to-Back-to-Back”. To the surprise of many, Asia’s Songbird lashed out a comment saying how they’ll never really know since all the other members left them for the other network. She jokingly called all of them “disrespectful”.
She gave a special mention to her husband, Ogie Alcasid, whom she did not exempt from her “harsh” words.
As we all know, Ogie, Jaya, and Janno have moved on from their Kapuso days to become Kapamilya stars in way or another.
Lani followed up on the fact that “they will never really know, maybe in the near future, perhaps” (talking about the SOP reunion).
The two superstars still agreed that they are looking forward to a reunion soon enough. They jokingly said that hopefully, it happens before they all start getting old and rusty.
Lani ended the interview by saying that a reunion, like a dinner reunion/get together/catch up session, had already happened. About the reunion show, on the other hand, she admits that it will be difficult because the members of the all-star cast are working for different networks.
I’m sure their fans now have something great to look forward to. Let’s just say that if it happens, it happens.
